Their initiative is to give stability and resources to food and beverage workers. “ Financial assistance is awarded based on the food service worker’s financial need as well as a set of criteria according to the type of crisis. ” This applies to living expenses or restaurant workers suffering from an illness. injury, death of an immediate family member, or a housing disaster. Once an application is filled out, a case manager will get in contact to determine the best course of action. Additionally, “ food service workers can apply for assistance for up to six months after a crisis occurs.”
Another service they provide is the stability network. This connects food service workers to essential community resources as well as physical and mental health support. When an application is approved, they will receive a custom list of resources based on their individual needs.
The Giving Kitchen is available in English and Spanish. Their case managers can serve clients in more than 180 languages.
